Hi, thanks for the link to download the 2.1 version. But when I use iTunes 8.0 to update my iPod Touch with this firmware, it says there is unknown iPod error.
Is there anything else I should do before upgrading to the new firmware? Thanks, appreciate any advice.

Try opening itunes, click your iphone to the Summary tab. Shift click Restore button for windows, option click restore on mac will allow you to choose a version to downgrade to. Take this with a grain of salt, I'm unsure myself
