I was using the jailbreak for the new 1.1.5 update and it stopped where it says after 3 minutes restart this process. when i stopped somehting happened to my iTouch and now iTunes won't read it so i can't reboot it or anything. I don't know where to ask for hep so i'm doing it here
the screen reads as follows
Singleuser boot -- fsck not done
Root device is mounted read-only

If you want to make modifications to fil (linebreak)es:
/sbin/fsk -fy
/sbin/mount -uw /

If you wish to boot the system:
exit

Jul 27 03:43:46 Launchd[23]: can't exec

And Greetings from Ireland....Er?...I hope someone can help me here...bigtime s**t...I Jailbroke my iTouch ad got on with 1.1.4 Then I saw there was an update 1.1.5 Wnet for it....now the Apps for Weather, Mail and Maps have disappeared...! When I reboot the Touch...and click install...it freezes..!. Anyone know what I can do to solve this mess?...I really hope so...regards...Richard.

@theo: Try putting your iPod Touch in DFU mode and then shift-click and restore it to firmware 1.1.5

@dick: In firmware 1.1.5 the $20 apps go away, you have to jailbreak firmware 1.1.5 again in order to get these apps back and the installer app. I would advise just upgrading to firmware 2.0 and jailbreaking it because it's better and you get the App Store with it too.

I starting jailbreak and waited for more than 15 minutes and as instructed i stopped the process and restarted the installation but now the ipod touch is not functioning and the program cannot find the ipod touch. It says I need configuration. What can I do Please?

another important note. It is not recognised by itunes so it seems i can do nothing.

sorry, i messed up on that last post, so i deleted it. heres a working version of what i said: READ IT THROUGH BEFORE YOU DO IT.

Restart your ipod by holding down the power(top) and home(under screen) buttons, when it is off, let go off power button but continue holding home button. plug in your ipod cable while you are holding home button until it gives you a picture then open itunes and you HAVE to restore it.

HEYYY YALL this is for all the people who tried to jailbreak their 1.1.5 iTouch/iPhone with Ziphone and then it crashed and stayed in dos mode (the black screen with white text), heres what u do:
open itunes and leave it and connect ur iTouch/iPhone when its still on and in dos mode,
hold the power (top) and home (middle bottom) button till it resets and when u see the black and white apple icon then u release the power button (top) BUT still hold onto the home until u see the colored itunes icon, then release then home button and on ur itunes it should be able to read the iTouch/iPhone and all u do is just press restore....wells gl

I'm having the same problem with my Touch.

I installed the FW Changer and made my firmware 1.1.3
When I restarted my iPod it went straight to a black screen with white characters saying the following:

i can fix this, ive just had the same problem and recovering it fine right now.

hold down the home key and power off button until the screen goes black.

when black, DO NOT PRESS DOWN THE POWER KEY. hold the home key and at the exact same time insert the USB plug into the bottom.

when it shows its in recovery mode, turn on itunes and restore your ipod.

okk guys i know wat to do i jst fixed it all u have to do is plug in ur usb den wen it says all that crap adnd u cant do anything hold ur powwer and ur middle bottom button den realease the power buttond dahts it

i am smart and have not jailbroke my ipod bc as you can tell all it does it created problems so its best to just keep the version you have and just go from there... you can still add games, apps, etc.

hi i have a second generation ipod touch and firmware 2.2 i have not yet been able to jailbreak it. Every time i try i use quickpwn 22 and i have a restore firmware downloaded. Can i jailbreak a second generation ipod touch v2.2? Is so ... how?

I’m from Manila, Philippines…

Mine before is version 1.1.5, but when I tried too to install and upgrade to 2.2 version, it also gives an alert error (5) and suddenly after my 2nd attempt to restore it to the original through iTunes, it gives another error code which is (7), then my iPod Touch comes to white screen, as if you can’t use it anymore. I think, some of the units of iPod Touch having the version 1.1.5 has a problem. I already reported it to Mac Apple Service Center, and until now, there fixing on it or either they will give me a replacement for it. I hope they will replace for it.

Hi all, can some one please help me. . . . I have just got a Ipod touch 2nd gen and plugged it into my computer and updated my itunes, and it put me straight into recovery mode. Unfortunatly errors keep coming up, I have tried everything, deleting and reinstalling itunes, trying another computer and even downloading restore packages. Its still not working have already contacted apple, but am loathed to send it away as its not even a week. . . Can I put Nes games with 1.1.5 without having to change anything else to have that...and if i do downgrade to 1.1.4 to get nes games and remove it after i have nes games will everything like the nes games delete from my ipod touch?

Can Someone PLEASE help me?! Okay I was jailbreaking my iPod Touch and it worked fine, then, it went it to boot mode and wont start up! I would restore it but, I have a passcode lock on it and when I plug it into iTunes it says "iPod cannot be used or shown because it is locked with a oasscode lock, please enter the lock on your iPod before continuing". So, you see my problen, my iPod is stuck in boot mode and i cant acess it on iTunes because it has a passcode lock and i cant acess it to even try to restore it!! Please PPlease Please HELP ME!! :(
